A detailed report of revised terms and conditions for buying cars in the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) with effect from November 2020 is published by the Department of CSD on 29.10.2020.

New CSD Car Purchase Rules 2020 for Defence Personnel Pay Level 3 to 6

As per the notification the eligibility of basic salary in the 7th pay commission as follows:

Pay Level 3 to 6 in Army (Including Retired and Widows)

  • 7th CPC Pay Level 3 (Sepoy)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 4 (Naik)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 5 (Havildar)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 6 (Naib Subedar)

Pay Level 3 to 6 in Navy (Including Retired and Widows)

  • 7th CPC Pay Level 3 (Seaman I/II)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 4 (Leading Seaman)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 5 (Petty Officer)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 5A (Mechanicians and Artificers)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 36 (Chief Petty Officer)

Pay Level 3 to 6 in Air Force (Including Retired and Widows)

  • 7th CPC Pay Level 3 (Aircraftsman – Leading Aircraftsman)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 4 (Corporal)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 5 (Sergeant)
  • 7th CPC Pay Level 6 (Junior Warrant Officer)

CSD Car Buying Condition No.1

6 Lakhs excluding taxes

CSD Car Buying Condition No.2

The first car in service and Second car after Retirement. First car after Five Years of service. The gap between the purchase of Two cars to be Eight years.

CSD Car Buying Condition No.3

For Widows, if the late husband had purchased a car each while in service and after retirement then the widow will not be eligible to buy a car. In case the late husband had purchased only one car while in service, then the widow can buy one car through CSD after a gap of eight years from the date of the last purchase.
