Supply Electric Vehicles Extended to 31st January 2020
Supply of Electric Vehicles
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture company of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Ministry of Power has concluded the procurement process of 10,000 e-cars under the National E-Mobility Programme that was launched on 7th March 2018.
These e-cars are provided to Government Departments on lease/outright purchase basis to replace the existing fleet of petrol and diesel vehicles taken on lease by them.
Till date, 652 e-cars have been deployed for various Government Departments across India by EESL along with commissioning of 295 AC and 161 DC captive chargers in their premises to charge these e-cars. State-wise list of e-cars deployed and chargers commissioned is at Annexure.
As per the Letter of Award (LoA) issued on 13th October 2017 (for 400 e-cars) and 28th February 2018 (for 9,600 e-cars), the e-cars were to be supplied by 30th November 2017 and 31st January 2019 respectively.
However, the demand for e-cars has been less than estimated. Therefore, the date of supply has been extended to 31st January 2020.
All the EVs leased by EESL are in operation for the last eighteen (18) months and being used by Government Departments. The performance of the deployed EVs including mileage, is as per the specifications indicated in the LoA.
