Process of Apply Learner License (LLR) Online in Tamil Nadu 2023
To apply for a learner’s license, one must visit https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/, choose the relevant state, select “Application for New Learner’s License” from the “Learner’s License” menu and fill out the application form. After pressing the “Next” button, the applicant must visit the RTO on the scheduled date with original documents and the fee slip.
Age Limit for LLR in TN
To apply for a driving licence (DL), one must first obtain a learner licence (commonly referred to as LLR). Those aged 18 and above can apply for an LLR via the online portal at https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/ and select the relevant RTO/MVI office based on the pincode. An LLR can be applied for directly or through a recognised driving school. The online portal is user-friendly and requires applicants to fill out all necessary information and upload documents such as proof of address, age proof and a medical certificate if the applicant is over 40 years of age.
How to apply LLR online in TN?
You can pay your fee either online or through the nearest SBI branch in person. Once payment is complete, you can book an appointment online to have your photographs taken at the RTO/MVI office, thereby avoiding unnecessary wait time. Upon completion of the process, you will receive a barcode/QR code acknowledgement slip. Print out the acknowledgement slip and visit the RTO/MVI office on the appointed day and time (arrive half an hour before the appointed time). The Motor Vehicles Inspector will examine your application and then take your photographs. You can download the LLR from the portal. This LLR is valid for six months and you must apply for the licence of your choice within one month of the LLR issue date.
If Learner License Test Failed, What Next?
If an applicant fails their Learner Licence test, they can retake the test from the next day onwards upon payment of the applicable fees. If the Learner Licence has expired, the applicant must submit a new application.
Syllabus for LLR Test in TN
The syllabus for the LLR Test covers traffic signs and signals, traffic regulations, driver duties in the event of an accident, precautions to be taken when passing an unmanned railway crossing, and documents to be carried whilst driving.
Age Limit for Without Gear Vehicle in TN
All individuals who have reached the age of 16 may obtain a license for driving a Motorcycle (without Gear, and not exceeding 50 cc), but only with parental consent. Those who have reached the age of 18 are eligible to receive a license for driving a Motorcycle with Gear and a Light Motor Vehicle. Lastly, individuals who have achieved the age of 20 may also get a license.
Education Qualification for LLR in TN
No minimum educational qualification is required for obtaining a license for operating non-transport vehicles, such as Cars, Motorcycles, and Tractors.
Documents Needed for LLR in TN
Documents needed are an application Form 2 generated online, age proof, address proof, medical certificate in Form No. 1-A (in the case of a Transport vehicle and the applicant is over 40 years old), Application cum Declaration as to the Physical Fitness Form-1, and the corresponding fee for the LLR.
Fee Structure for LLR in TN
For a single class of vehicle, the fee is Rs. 230/- and for double class of vehicle, it is Rs. 380/-.
