The Ladakh Motor Vehicles Department has a crucial role in regulating and enforcing the Motor Vehicles Act. The department also plays a crucial role in introducing new types of vehicles to the transport system of J&K State. It grants and renews permits and registration certificates, issues and renews driving licenses, registers pollution check certificates, and grants trade certificates to Motor Vehicles dealers.
