- The RTE TN Class 1 or LKG School Admission for the academic year 2023-2024 is now open. Individuals who are interested to apply to private schools, based on the guidelines of Section 12.1(c) of the Right to Education Act, 2009, must submit their application along with necessary documents. The registration for this year will commence on April 20th, 2023 at around 1:00 PM and will continue until May 18th, 2023.
- The mandatory documents include a passport-sized photograph (150 px X 175 px) of the applicant, an AADHAR or ration card of the parent or guardian, a birth certificate, an income certificate for weaker sections, a community certificate for disadvantage groups, and a certificate for disadvantaged group special category. We advise applicants to complete all documentation procedures before submitting their application.
- The Tamil Nadu Government’s Department of School Education has released a notification concerning admission under RTE for the academic year 2023-24. According to the RTE Act 2009, 25% of available seats in Class 1 or LKG are reserved for underprivileged children. Hence, we encourage all parents and guardians of such children to apply through the portal (rte.tnschools.gov.in) to their nearest school.

TN RTE Age Limit for LKG 2023-24
The upcoming admission season for Tamil Nadu’s Right to Education program will require applicants to meet specific age criteria. Children seeking entrance into LKG must have been born between August 1st, 2018 and July 31st, 2019. For those seeking admission into Class 1, children must have been born between August 1st, 2016 and July 31st, 2017. These dates are non-negotiable and strictly enforced.
RTE TN Registration Required Documents 2023-24
When registering their child on the TN Admission Portal, parents must ensure that they have all the required documents in a scanned copy format. These documents include the student’s photo, which should be a width of 150px and height of 175px, with an image size not exceeding 100 KB. Additionally, proof of the student’s birth is required in the form of a JPG/JPEG file with a maximum size of 1MB. Parents must also provide their own ID (father, mother, or guardian), again in JPG/JPEG format with a maximum size of 1MB. Other necessary documents include the child’s date of birth certificate, caste certificate, income certificate of parents, residence proof, Aadhar card, ration card, driving license, PAN card, voter ID, and bank saving account pass book.
