In order to better cater to the needs of Armed Forces Personnel and Ex-Servicemen, the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) has implemented changes to the eligibility criteria and buying process of cars on their online portal, known as CSD AFD. The recent notification issued by the CSD headquarters (CSD HO) provides a comprehensive outline of the entitlements for purchasing four-wheelers through CSD.

CSD AFD Eligibility Criteria for Two Wheelers 2025

Individuals possessing a smart card are eligible to purchase a bike, scooter, EV scooter, or EV bike (any two-wheelers) through the CSD AFD online portal. It is important to note that only one bike can be purchased at a time, and this purchase can be made once every four years, counting from the date of the last purchase.

CSD AFD Eligibility Criteria for AC 2025

Four ACs in a block period of four years: Individuals who possess a smart card are eligible to make a purchase of an Air Conditioner (AC) through the online portal of CSD AFD. It is worth highlighting that only a single AC can be bought at a given time, and this acquisition is limited to a maximum of four Air Conditioners within a span of four years.

CSD AFD Eligibility Criteria for TV 2025

Two TVs in a block period of four years: Only individuals who possess a smart card have the privilege to acquire a Television Set (TV) via the CSD AFD online portal. It is crucial to understand that the purchase of a TV is limited to one unit at a time, and this acquisition can be made once within a block period of four years, alongside the possibility of purchasing up to four air conditioners.

Eligibility Criteria for Purchasing in CSD Canteen

The following individuals are eligible to make purchases at the CSD Canteen:
1. Serving and retired Armed Forces Personnel with a pay level ranging from 1 to 18.
2. Serving and retired Defence Civilian employees with a pay level ranging from 1 to 18.
3. Family pensioners of Defence Civilians with a pay level ranging from 1 to 18.

Furthermore, there is a minimum four-year gap requirement for the purchase of the same item, specifically a two-wheeler, from the date of the last purchase. Additionally, it is important to note that only one type of AFD-1 item can be purchased within the specified time gap mentioned above.
